Link Among Recent Robberies Suspected
The robbery of a Little Caesar’s Pizza Restaurant in Ventura is looking suspiciously like two other recent robberies at Ventura businesses, police said Thursday.
The pizza shop at 6118 E. Telegraph Road was robbed at about 9:30 Wednesday night by a heavy-set man brandishing a gun, police said. After giving the man an undisclosed amount of cash, the employees were herded into a bathroom in the back of the restaurant. The man, believed to be in his 20s, disconnected the phone and then fled on foot, police said.
On Sunday, a heavy-set man robbed a Subway Sandwich & Salad shop on Main Street with a gun and disconnected the phone, and on Tuesday, a heavy-set and armed man wearing a mask robbed Payless Shoesource on Telephone Road, disconnected the phone and locked several employees in a back office, police said.
Police are investigating the incidents but have few leads, they said.
