P. Marion Sims; Ex-Pastor of First Presbyterian in Santa Monica

P. Marion Sims, 87, retired educator and pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica. Born in Vinton, Iowa, he attended Hastings College, San Francisco Theological Seminary and Yale University Divinity School. He served churches in Lansing, Mich., and Cincinnati and taught religion at Michigan State University before joining the Santa Monica church in 1969. He retired as acting pastor in 1975. Simms then served 11 years as advisor and lecturer at Emeritus College of Santa Monica College. On Feb. 14 in Santa Monica.
