Second Snowboarder Dies at Lake Tahoe
A snowboarder was killed at a California ski resort Sunday, the second fatal snowboard accident in three days at a Lake Tahoe ski resort, and authorities were searching for a third snowboarder missing at another Lake Tahoe recreation site.
The name of Sunday’s victim was withheld pending notification of family. He was found face-down in the snow and was pronounced dead a half-hour later by the El Dorado County coroner.
On Thursday, snowboarder Peter Olsson, 24, was killed when he slammed into a tree at the Sugar Bowl resort.
And authorities were to resume searching today for Shawn Daws, 25, a snowboarder who was last seen Friday when he told friends he planned to take one more run at the Diamond Peak ski area, a north Lake Tahoe, Nev., resort.
