NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Derrick Brown and God Shammgod scored 19 points apiece, and Providence (18-11) made 10 of its final 12 free throws in a 91-79 victory over Fairfield (20-10) Friday night in the first round of the NIT. The Friars will next play St. Joseph.
