South Florida Looking at 49ers’ Greenberg
NEW YORK — Coach Seth Greenberg, who led Long Beach State to its first regular-season conference title in 19 years, is a candidate for the University of South Florida job.
Greenberg, attending the National Assn. of Basketball Coaches conference here, interviewed with South Florida Athletic Director Paul Griffin before Saturday’s Final Four semifinal games at the Meadowlands Arena at East Rutherford, N.J.
“I’m just going to have to see what happens,” Greenberg said. “I have a lot of questions right now.”
South Florida is a member of Conference USA. Greenberg makes approximately $175,000 annually at Long Beach, and the South Florida job pays about $230,000 per season.
Last season, Greenberg was a candidate for openings at USC and Nevada Las Vegas.
