Marmonte League player of the year had 73.2 stroke average. Set league tournament record with a one-under-par 283 over four rounds, including a three-under 67 at Los Robles.
* J.T. KOHUT
Westlake, Freshman
All-Marmonte League selection was medalist in the Southern Section team championships, shooting 70. Had a 73.7 stroke average, including 69 at Los Robles.
* BEN KRUG
Granada Hills, Senior
City Section tournament runner-up with a 73-74--147 at Rancho Park. Led Highlanders to fourth consecutive City championship with a stroke average of 75.
* JASON SEMELSBERGER
Hart, Senior
All-Foothill League selection had 74.3 stroke average. Medalist with a 70 in 52-team DeBell tournament. Had a four-under 68 at Harding in league tournament.
* RUSSELL SURBER
Flintridge Prep, Sophomore
Prep League player of year shot 71 to tie for third at Southern California Golf Assn. tournament. Led Rebels to 15-1 record with a nine-hole stroke average of 36.7.
SECOND TEAM
* TODD GOLDITCH
Chatsworth, Junior
Won the City 5-A League championship and was third in the City Section.
* MATT HEYN
Alemany, Senior
Led the Indians to a Mission League title with 38.9 nine-hole stroke average.
* MATT McCRITE
Westlake, Senior
USC-bound but was overshadowed on SCGA champions. He averaged 75.8.
* GREG PHELAN
Buena, Senior
Led the Bulldogs to the Channel League championship with a 75.1 average.
* CARLOS ROBLEDO
Hart, Senior
Foothill League’s top player helped Indians win seventh consecutive league title.
* ALEX WEIL
Harvard-Westlake, Senior
Selected player of the year in the competitive Mission League.
