Arizona Executes Killer

FLORENCE, Ariz. — Daren Lee Bolton was executed by lethal injection early Wednesday for the 1986 kidnapping and murder of a 2-year-old girl, officials said.
Bolton, 29, of Tucson, had shunned some of the appeals to which death row inmates are entitled. The repeat sex offender had said he would rather die than spend the rest of his life behind bars. He consistently maintained his innocence.
