OCC Course Schedule Expanded
Orange Coast College has expanded its summer course offerings from 346 to nearly 400 classes.
Christopher C. O’Hearn, vice president of instruction, said the courses have been so popular that officials have made room for an additional 1,000 students at the community college this summer.
“More classes should translate into a larger enrollment this summer,” O’Hearn said.
“We enrolled approximately 11,000 students last year. I expect we’ll top 12,000 students this year.”
OCC summer classes are open to anyone over 18 years old who has completed his or her sophomore year in high school.
O’Hearn said summer classes draw not only regular OCC students but also high school students and people home for the summer from four-year colleges.
