Road Improvement Plans to Get Review
The City Council on Tuesday will review a plan for more than $54 million in capital improvements over the next seven years.
Many of the proposals would be in conjunction with the widening of the Santa Ana Freeway. Among roadways scheduled for improvements are Harbor and State College boulevards, Ball Road, Katella and La Palma avenues, and Euclid Street.
Construction on the freeway itself is set to begin in December in Anaheim and continue into 2000. The number of freeway lanes will be increased to five in each direction from three each way now.
Also on the council’s agenda for next week are revisions proposed in city codes regulating adult businesses.
“We are fine-tuning the ordinances,” said Eleanor Egan, senior assistant city attorney, to make them easier to enforce.
The council meets at 5 p.m. at City Hall, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd. Information: (714) 254-5100.
