IRELAND : Weapons Seized in Farmhouse Raid
From Times Wire Services
Anti-terrorist police raiding a suspected weapons factory caught an Irish Republican Army team at work making arms, officials said. Police sources said officers seized timing devices, electrical components used in rockets and plastic and homemade explosives in the raid of a farmhouse 65 miles west of Dublin. Police were questioning six people, including three arrested in the raid. The IRA-allied Sinn Fein has been barred from peace negotiations in Belfast because the IRA has suspended its cease-fire.
