Varco International Inc.: The Orange manufacturer of oil and gas well drilling equipment posted second-quarter net income of $5.7 million, or 18 cents a share, up 6% from the $5.4 million, or 17 cents a share, for the like period last year. Revenue climbed 18% to $90.6 million from $76.8 million. For the first six months of 1996, net income totaled $8.7 million, or 28 cents a share, up 5% from the $8.3 million, or 26 cents a share, for last year’s first half. Revenue rose 20% to $161.5 million from $134.4 million.
