Washington Won’t Travel with Team
USC will have an early-morning, walk-around practice today, then leave at midmorning for New York and Sunday’s game against Penn State.
Tailback Delon Washington, suspended Tuesday for an unidentified “infraction,” wasn’t a full participant in practice Wednesday, but did work out with the team, dressed in shorts but no pads.
He won’t make the trip.

Travis Claridge, the freshman right guard given a starting assignment in the opener against Penn State on Sunday, may be only 18 but he knows a dumb question when he hears one.
He was asked if he was nervous.
“I’m going from high school games with 300 or 400 people to 80,000,” he said.
How’s he sleeping?
“So-so.”
