Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer

Nick Broomfield’s absolutely compelling documentary is a work of investigative reporting at its sharpest. Broomfield digs into the sensational case of Wuornos (pictured), dubbed by the media as “America’s first female serial killer” and reveals justice that is dubious at best. Broomfield’s style is appropriately jagged and urgent and shoot-from-the-hip (Cinemax early Tuesday at 5:30 a.m.).
