Woman Killed by Truck in Lot

PANORAMA CITY — A woman was killed Thursday night when a tractor-trailer truck backed into her as she walked in a Food 4 Less parking lot, Los Angeles police said.
The woman, who was not identified, was believed to be in her 80s, said Officer James Akana. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the 8:15 p.m. accident near the intersection of Vesper Avenue and Chase Street.
