Coach: Randy Rossi (16th year).
1995: Fourth in State Division I; Southern Section Division I-AA runners-up; Sea View League champions; 5-0 league dual-meet record.
Key returners: Paola Corral, Jr.; Edel Leyden, Jr.; Melissa Livermore, So.; Christina Meyer, Sr.; Erin Zehntner, So.
Key newcomers: Diane Croner, So.; Shannon Fabbri, So.; Laura Freund, So.; Heidi MacDonnell, Sr.; So; Regina Waugh, Sr.
Outlook: Watch for another late-season run from the Vaqueros, who have been among the state meet’s best each of the past five years. Rossi again will have a wealth of talent from one of the area’s most consistent programs. “There’s a real potential there but we’ll be a late bloomer again,” Rossi said. Zehntner was third at the league finals, 19th at the state meet and was one of the county’s best freshmen. Livermore finished the season strong with a sixth-place finish in league. Corral, Meyer and Leyden are all experienced runners, so depth will not be a problem. Freund, Croner, MacDonnell and Waugh add quality to the Vaqueros’ depth.
