OUTLOOK
The Mustangs return Lindow at quarterback and their strength should be their passing game with returning receivers Arthur and Benda as well as Flournoy and speedy Kailey. Lewis also could develop into a strong running back. “We’re not going to be one-sided. If people want to defend the pass, we’re not afraid to run it,” Crow said. The strength of their defense will be the secondary even though they lost all-league defensive backs Bryan Carter and Tom Kilby to graduation. Benda and Arthur give them continuity in the secondary and Sechrist and Ortiz also will contribute. Trabuco Hills’ weak links are its offensive and defensive lines. Gone are all-league selections Dan Mertins on the offensive line and Torrey Parker on the defensive line. Switzer, Minier-Goeree and Monning will have to step up. “We’re just green and we’re going to have to come a long way to be decent on defense,” Crow said. “If we stay green on defense it’s going to be a long year.”
