Growth Curve: Thousand Oaks voters will decide on two growth measures in November (B1). The first would quadruple the ‘bedroom tax’ now charged on new homes. It has drawn little opposition. . . . The second, though, has council members arguing about whether it would contain growth or just send it to the outskirts of the city.
Good Vibrations: Jimmy Street of the “Hodads” joined thousands of revelers over the weekend to celebrate an endless summer on Ventura’s Beachfront Promenade. The annual beach party, switched from April to September for the better weather, drew 34,000 people in search of surf, sand and sun. The biggest draw: Dick Dale, a.k.a. the king of surf guitar.
