Ventura 41, Compton 0--Elihu Vann rushed for 192 yards in 20 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Pirates (1-1) in a WSC interdivisional game.
Vann scored on runs of five and two yards in the first quarter to give Ventura a 20-0 lead. His touchdowns sandwiched David Furst’s 45-yard score on an interception return.
Kyle Schommer completed touchdown passes of 18 and 15 yards to Donell Wicket in the third quarter for a 34-0 advantage.
Schommer completed 10 of 14 passes for 88 yards.
