Tennis Tournament

What: Pacific Mutual/USTA Women’s Challenger.

Where: Marriott Hotel and Tennis Club, 900 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach.

When: Qualifying begins 10 a.m. today through Tuesday. Main draw begins Tuesday. Semifinals at 10 a.m. Oct. 5; finals at noon Oct. 6.

Cost: General admission available at gate for $5 during week, $8 for the semifinals and $10 for the finals. A full-tournament pass is $25.

Participants: Jolene Watanabe of Arcadia, ranked 84th, is tournament’s top-seeded player. The 32-player main draw begins with 26 automatic qualifiers, four others advancing from qualifying rounds and two wild-card selections.
