The Buffalo Sabres signed holdout right wing Matthew Barnaby to a three-year contract Saturday.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal includes two option years, the latter of which can be exercised by the team.
The signing comes two weeks after left wing Brad May suffered a shoulder injury that is expected to keep him out of the lineup up to three months.
Barnaby, 23, had 15 goals and 16 assists with a league-leading 335 penalty minutes in 73 games last season.
