Cal Lutheran University’s Mainstage Theatre company will present the musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” from Halloween night through Nov. 10.
Based on the “Peanuts” comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, the musical will present humorous vignettes from the life of the funny pages’ round-headed protagonist.
Charlie Brown’s canine companion, Snoopy, and friends Linus, Lucy and Schroeder are also featured in the Clark Genser musical, directed by Barbara Wegher-Thompson. And on Halloween night, Charlie Brown may finally see the Great Pumpkin.
The musical will be performed nightly at 8 in Cal Lutheran’s Preus-Brandt Forum, 60 W. Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks, from next Thursday through Nov. 2. A performance is also scheduled for 9 p.m. Nov. 9, with matinees at 2 p.m. Nov. 3 and Nov. 10. A Charlie Brown picnic will be held before the musical’s final performance at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Cal Lutheran Pavilion.
Tickets for all performances are $8. For reservations and information, call the Cal Lutheran box office at (805) 493-3410. --JASON TERADA
