American Vanguard Corp.: The Newport Beach-based agricultural chemical company’s net income slumped in the third quarter to $26,600, or 1 cent a share, from $172,200, or 7 cents a share, a year ago. Sales fell more than 18% to $9.1 million from $11.1 million. The company earned $376,600, or 15 cents a share, for the nine months, down from $379,000, or 15 cents a share, for the same period last year. Revenue dropped more than 15% to $29.4 million from $34.8 million.
