Re “Zoo Ships Out Elephant That Trampled Trainer,” Oct. 30:
Los Angeles Zoo officials allow an extremely inexperienced keeper to deal with an extremely “experienced” elephant, yet they ship the elephant off to God knows what fate. Perhaps they should hire trained keepers and/or train the keepers they do hire so that this incident is not repeated. We have lost enough elephants from the zoo.
