Kemp to Join State Luminaries in Costa Mesa to Watch Returns
Republican vice presidential candidate Jack Kemp will spend election night in Orange County, monitoring returns at the Hyatt Regency Irvine before joining state party luminaries at their Costa Mesa election headquarters.
Kemp is expected to join Gov. Pete Wilson, state Atty. Gen. Dan Lungren and Assembly Speaker Curt Pringle (R-Garden Grove) at the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel sometime Tuesday evening.
Kemp, a native Californian, has been touring the state via bus and plane in the waning days of the 1996 campaign. He is scheduled to attend 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at Templo Calvario, 2617 W. 5th St. in Santa Ana, according to church officials.
GOP presidential candidate Bob Dole will cast his vote and monitor returns in his home state of Kansas.
