Boy, 12, in Critical Condition After Being Hit by Car
A 12-year-old boy was in critical condition Sunday in an Oxnard hospital after being hit by a car on Las Posas Road in Camarillo, authorities said.
The boy, who was not identified because he is a minor, was crossing the street at Camino La Madera on Friday when he was struck by the car, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities did not identify the 46-year-old driver, who lives in Camarillo. An investigation is underway.
The boy was treated at the scene by off-duty medical personnel and taken to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo for emergency treatment. He was subsequently transferred to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.
On Sunday night, a hospital spokeswoman said the boy was in the intensive care unit. His condition has not changed since he was admitted, she said.
