Drivers Sought After Man Is Fatally Struck
A 55-year-old man was struck and killed as he was crossing a busy street during the evening rush hour, and investigators Wednesday were searching for one or two drivers who fled the scene after the accident.
Minh Vinh of Garden Grove was walking east across Brookhurst Street about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a car driven by a Westminster man, Investigator Tim Murray said.
“He was then hit by one or two other vehicles that didn’t stop,” Murray said. “I’m looking for the drivers of those vehicles.”
Vinh, who was not in a crosswalk, died at the scene. The driver who did stop said he didn’t see Vinh, who was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and a dark-colored hat, Murray said.
That driver has not been cited. Police are asking anyone with information about the drivers to call (714) 741-5823.
