The annual La Palma Days Parade will start at 10:15 a.m. today along Walker Street.
The celebration will include a 125-unit parade and a band review, carnival, vendors, entertainment and a community dinner, said Ron Kenny, director of Parks and Recreation.
The theme of this year’s parade, which will honor fire departments, is “Firefighters: Faithful and Fearless.”
The La Palma Intercommunity Hospital Bed Races will precede the parade from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Teams of runners will push 150-pound hospital beds in a fund-raising event for La Palma Intercommunity Hospital Foundation.
The carnival, which opened Friday in Central Park, will continue from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, with charges for various rides.
