New Angel Manager Had a Classic Fall
Baseball’s deepest free fall out of 1996 playoff participation was performed by the Houston Astros, who despite the presence of Bagwell, Bell & Co. lost 27 of their final 35 games, including 10 in a row at the season’s most critical juncture. The man pulling the strings during this cordless bungee jump? Terry Collins, of course.
Certainly no “Mickeying” around by Mr. Tavares. The Angels got their man.
