In another Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer game:
Fullerton 2, Irvine Valley 1--Amber Duarte scored two second-half goals, including the game-winner with six minutes remaining for visiting Fullerton (4-9, 4-3). Amy Fylpaa scored in the first half for Irvine Valley (2-4-1 in conference).
In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Irvine Valley 3, Fullerton 0--Eric Pfeiffer scored two goals in the first half in the Laser victory. Laser goalkeeper Sean Bartko had nine saves. Fullerton keeper Domitilo Peralta had 10 saves.
Rancho Santiago 7, Golden West 0--Steve Cervantes recorded his second hat-trick of the season scoring all three of his goals in the second half. Jose Borrego had two goals for the Dons (13-1-2, 8-0-1).
Riverside 2, Orange Coast 0--Javier Hernandez scored with 16 minutes left in the game and Michael Sparks had a goal with six minutes remaining to lead visiting Riverside (8-7-2, 4-3-1). Byron Livingston had seven saves for Orange Coast (4-9-3, 2-6-1).
In Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball:
Fullerton 3, Saddleback 1--Jennifer Agustin, Wendy Ames, and Nadia Hoerner each had 12 kills for host Fullerton (12-2, 8-1), which won, 13-15, 15-6, 15-6, 15-7, for its eighth consecutive victory.
Golden West 3, Cypress 0--Jennifer Farrell had six kills for host Golden West, which won 15-4, 15-1, 15-1.
Orange Coast 3, Riverside 0--Tracy Burns had 12 kills and Jennifer Fish had 11 in the 15-11, 15-5, 15-10 victory for Orange Coast (9-7, 4-5).
In Southern California Regional men’s water polo playoffs:
Long Beach 15, Golden West 14--Peter Muller’s goal with four seconds left in the game gave Long Beach the semifinal victory. Golden West, down by four goals with 3 minutes 32 seconds left, came back with four goals to tie the score. Jeff Hamilton had four goals for the Rustlers (29-2).
Long Beach will meet Citrus, which beat Grossmont, 11-8, in the final. Golden West will play Grossmont for third place at 5:30 p.m. at Belmont Plaza Pool in Long Beach. The championship game starts at 8 p.m.
Citrus 10, Orange Coast 8--Orange Coast fell behind early in the quarterfinal and a fourth-quarter rally fell short.
