Matadors Stay Perfect in Big Sky
NORTHRIDGE — The Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team completed an unbeaten Big Sky Conference regular season and extended its winning streak to 10 matches Saturday night by defeating Cal State Sacramento, 15-5, 15-5, 15-7, at Northridge.
The Matadors (18-9, 14-0 in conference) earned the right to host the Big Sky tournament Nov. 21-23. The winner of the tournament earns the conference’s automatic berth in the NCAA Championships.
Middle blocker Getty Dimitrova led Northridge with 20 kills, four blocks and a career-best 11 digs. Nancy Ma added 19 kills and 14 digs, and Amy Gillis had a career-best 22 digs.
Northridge, winner of 18 of its last 19 matches, held Sacramento (20-9, 10-4) to a .143 hitting percentage, the 10th consecutive Matador opponent to be limited to no better than a .189 percentage.
The Matadors have won their last seven home matches.
