In the Victory League:
Capistrano Valley Christian 54, La Verne Lutheran 0--Capistrano Valley Christian clinched its first 11-man league championship and will also make its fifth consecutive appearance in the playoffs.
Junior running back Bryant Wolfsberger single-handedly carried the Eagles, (6-3, 4-0) running for 152 yards in four carries with five touchdowns.
Two of those came on kick returns. Wolfsberger scored his first one on a 38-yard punt return for the first Eagle score 2:27 into the game after La Verne went three-and-out in its opening series. The other was scored on the opening kickoff of the second half, going 80 yards to make the score 47-0 with the contest obviously of the Trojans’ reach.
The Eagles amassed five touchdowns on the ground while picking up 234 yards. Their only touchdown reception came on Wayland Williams’ 29-yard pass to Travis Dunn to close the first half, leading 40-0.
