Tax Seminars Offered on Payroll Reporting
The state Employment Development Department will hold a series of free tax seminars Nov. 20 to educate business owners and employers about the importance of compliance with payroll reporting requirements.
The seminars will include presentations on state and federal payroll reporting as well as a discussion of the different rules that apply for employees and independent contractors.
Payroll information reports are used by the state and federal government to compile statistics on unemployment and the job market.
The state payroll reporting requirement seminar will be held from 9 to 10:15 a.m. It will be followed by the federal payroll reporting requirement seminar at 10:30 a.m.
The discussion about the different regulations pertaining to employees and independent contractors will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The seminars will be in Room 140 at the Ventura Campus of Cal State Northridge, 2151 Alessandro Drive, Ventura. Seating is limited.
