Bowl Chances on the Upswing

On Monday, there was talk again of a bowl for UCLA.
UCLA (4-5) must beat Arizona on Saturday and USC on Nov. 23 to qualify for a bowl because of the NCAA-mandated six-victory rule. And the Bruins have beaten Cal and Washington State, two of the teams they are tied with for third place in the Pac-10. Stanford is the other team, and the Cardinal beat UCLA, 21-20.
“These kids want to go to a bowl game,” said Coach Bob Toledo. “The key thing right now is focusing in on the bull’s-eye of the target. We’ve got to win the game right now. Otherwise, we don’t have to worry about a bowl.”
