Clipper update--After winning four of six games against lottery teams, the Clippers play successive games against the best two teams in the Western Conference. They face the Lakers on Friday night at the Forum. The bench has been the key as the Clippers have won two in a row. Clipper reserves outscored Grizzly reserves, 50-4, in Tuesday’s 99-92 double-overtime victory at Vancouver. The Clippers have lost 12 consecutive games to the SuperSonics since a 111-103 victory at Seattle on Jan. 25, 1994.

SuperSonic update--The defending Western Conference champions have won four consecutive games. Forward Shawn Kemp, who had a season-high 33 points against Golden State on Tuesday, is averaging 24.6 points and 9.6 rebounds. Guard Nate McMillan, who has been sidelined two games because of a groin injury, is day to day.
