This marquee matchup lost a bit of luster when the Cougars lost to Atascadero and Bakersfield. But Mater Dei Coach Bruce Rollinson is making sure the Monarchs take the game, which will decide the South Coast League title, very seriously. “There is a lot at stake for both teams,” Rollinson said. “The pairings are very important when you go to the playoffs. A loss for us will shuffle that thing all over the Southern Section.” Capistrano Valley will have to figure out how to score against a defense that has allowed only three touchdowns in the last three games.
