L.A. Is No. 1: The Los Angeles U.S. SBA district office made more loans than any other SBA office in the nation, officials said. The office reported 1,842 loans in fiscal 1996 totaling $504.1 million, a 17% increase over last year and a 26% increase in dollar amount.
