Verdugo Hills 4, Carson 3--The Dons (16-0) won the City Section 3-A Division championship after the No. 3 doubles team of Stephanie Christ and Cindy de los Reyes defeated Beth Manzano and Latoya Williams, 6-2, 4-6, 6-0, in the last match.
Newport Harbor 12, Camarillo 6--Darian Chappell swept at No. 1 singles for the Scorpions (19-2), but the top-seeded Sailors were too much in a Southern Section Division I semifinal at Camarillo.
Chaminade 13, San Marino 5--Tina Kapadia swept at No. 3 singles as the Eagles (21-0) advanced to the Southern Section Division IV final. They will face the winner of the Calabasas-Rosary match, which was rained out and will be played Monday.
