Rachal Leads Fullerton Past El Camino, 97-63
Sterling Rachal had 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead Fullerton to a 97-63 victory over El Camino in a nonconference men’s basketball game.
Fullerton (3-3) led at halftime, 45-29, and cruised to an easy victory. Ty Juan Berry had 10 points, seven assists and five steals.
In other nonconference men’s basketball:
Cerritos 81, Cypress 71--Kevin Morris scored 22 points for host Cypress (0-5). Teammate Willie Allen had 20 points.
Jason Nicholas scored a game-high 24 points for Cerritos (6-0).
Grossmont 90, Golden West 86 (OT)--Golden West had problems with fouls, committing 28. Four players fouled out.
Ray Jimmerson had 25 points, including seven three-pointers, to lead Golden West.
In nonconference women’s basketball:
El Camino 52, Cypress 50--With 14 seconds left in the game and El Camino ahead by two, Cypress got the ball but Linda Rodriguez was unable to make a 10-foot jumper and El Camino rebounded to run out the clock.
Rodriguez finished with a game-high 19 points, seven rebounds and three three-pointers. Holly Pawlowski had 14 points for Cypress (3-2).
