USC, Robinson Take Another Beating
When I attended UCLA in the ‘40s, we considered ourselves fortunate to beat USC once during our four years.
That was then. This is now.
Now is better.

A major riddle in my life has finally been solved. After UCLA has possession for 34:34 to USC’s 25:26, has 31 first downs to USC’s 17, and outgains USC in total yardage, USC’s John Allred says the Trojans “dominated the game offensively.”
Now I know where the term “brain surgeons” came from. Perhaps USC can change the name of its fight song to “Dream On.”

I’d like to know what San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown would have to say about USC kicker Adam Abrams.

We can go on and on about why USC was beaten by UCLA. Yes, the defense was horrible. Yes, the tackling was horrible. Yes, the attempted game-winning field goal was horrible. But the bottom line is, LaVale Woods’ fumble cost USC the game. We can now add his name to the list headed by Joe Pisarcik and Earnest Byner.

I thought one of the benefits of moving to the Seattle area a year ago would be the clean, fresh, lightly pine-scented aroma of the Northwest air. Unfortunately, there has been an acrid stench wafting about since late August. The Trojans stink so bad, I can smell them up here.
