Airline to Use Rockwell Navigation Systems

Rockwell International Corp.’s Collins division will make navigation equipment for all the Boeing Co. aircraft owned by British Airways. British Airways will refit its 300 Boeing planes with the equipment and use the systems on its new Boeing planes as well, Seal Beach-based Rockwell said in a statement. Rockwell would not disclose financial details. London-based British Airways has 50 planes on order, Boeing spokesman John Dern said. Seattle-based Boeing is in the process of purchasing Rockwell’s aerospace and defense operations for $3.16 billion. That transaction, which doesn’t include the Collins operation, may be completed this month. Rockwell’s stock lost $1.37 to close at $62.875, Boeing shares lost $1.875 at $97.50, and British Airways stock lost 50 cents at $98.75, all on the NYSE.
