Child Slaying Photos Published in Globe
A supermarket tabloid with crime scene photos from the slaying of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey hit newsstands, but many outlets refused to sell it. Boulder County officials went to court seeking a temporary restraining order against the Globe, a 1.3-million circulation weekly. The Globe’s attorney argued officials had failed to prove that any laws were broken. The judge made no immediate decision. The photos show a garrote--a cord-wrapped stick that some reports say was used to strangle JonBenet--and a rope mark on one of her wrists.
