Best Documentary Nominee ‘Kings’ to Open Today
“When We Were Kings,” which also opens today, is an excellent documentary, 22 years in the making, about the classic heavyweight championship fight between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali known as “The Rumble in the Jungle.”
The Gramercy Pictures film was originally reviewed by Kenneth Turan on Oct. 25. On Tuesday, it was nominated for an Academy Award for best documentary.
The film is rated PG, for images of violence, brief nudity and some language (Times guidelines: no violence outside the ring).
