Pickup Truck Driver, 41, Killed in Crash
A 41-year-old Irvine man was killed Wednesday morning when he lost control of his pickup truck, which slammed into a road divider and then crashed into a tree, police said.
No other cars were involved in the 5 a.m. crash that left James Dean Clark trapped in his truck with major head and chest injuries, Irvine Police Sgt. Tim Smith said.
After firefighters freed him from the wreckage, Clark was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he died, Smith said.
Clark was driving westbound on Meadowood on his way to work when he veered sharply, striking the center divider near Canyonwood, police said. The accident is under investigation.
