Police Seeking Hit-and-Run Driver Whose Van Struck Man on Freeway
LAKE FOREST — Investigators are searching for a hit-and-run driver suspected of striking a man late Wednesday, leaving him unconscious on the San Diego Freeway, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
About 9:30 p.m., witnesses reported that a white van hit a man and fled the scene. Investigators arrived to find the man in the freeway south of El Toro Road, his head bleeding, CHP Officer Keith Bauer said. A car was parked in the shoulder of the road, its trunk open, Bauer said.
Authorities did not know whether the car belonged to the hit-and-run victim and were continuing to investigate. Bauer said he did not know the condition of the man.
