Scenic 5K Race Planned for June 7

Registration has begun for the 16th annual Corona del Mar Scenic 5K race, scheduled for June 7.
The Newport Beach Community Services Department is offering separate races for men and women, with registration limited to 1,500 each. The day’s festivities will include a 2-mile Fun Walk and a 1-kilometer Kids’ Run for children ages 5 to 12.
Runners will follow Corona del Mar’s oceanfront bluffs and wind through residential areas. Walkers will travel a different route, over Goldenrod Avenue’s 70-year-old footbridge and down Fernleaf Avenue.
The top three finishers in each category will get awards, as will every child participant. All registrants will receive T-shirts and gourmet breakfasts from 15 eateries along the race’s “restaurant row.”
