Parole Violator

The article about the sexual assault of a young woman and murder of an office supply deliveryman (April 26) by an armed violent offender on parole continues to illustrate the need for reform in the criminal justice system. This societal waste case was released after serving just half of his original 10-year sentence and then promptly failed to report to his parole officer, ever. In other words, another violent predator on the street instead of in jail where he belongs. I’m sure he also obtained his firearms legally too; yeah, right. So much for gun control.

This incident further points up the need for reasonable concealed-carry legislation. Who knows, the deliveryman if armed may have ended the assault and dispatched this vicious beast instead of stopping a bullet himself.
