When Assistant Chief Bayan Lewis was tapped to run the Los Angeles Police Department until a new, permanent chief is selected, LAPD insiders wondered what would happen to the other contenders for that job. . . . Deputy Chief Martin Pomeroy, above, who commands the Valley Bureau, was among the few others in line for the interim top cop job.
