Dos Vientos Project Getting a Bum Rap

I have read some of the letters and comments regarding the Dos Vientos project in Newbury Park and feel so much misinformation has been generated.

I am in support of Dos Vientos simply because it is a well-planned, beautiful project, which will benefit the entire community. I have lived in Newbury Park for over 22 years. Not a lot of modification has occurred in those years. It’s time for us to take advantage of the gift of renovation and repair and catch up to the changing technology around us. We have an opportunity to still retain the “flavor” of protected country living. Dos Vientos is being developed with a thoughtful master plan that would make any city proud. Take the time to send for information, and prepare to be impressed.

The amenities to the community are numerous; four “finished” parks, alone, should enthuse those who have seen Newbury Park’s “future park site” signs posted on park-dedicated land for years. Hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders will benefit from the 10 miles of new trails, which will be blazed by the developers. More than half of the Dos Vientos project is devoted to open space acreage.
