Rodman and Ghostwriter Trade a Few More Words

Stop me if you’ve heard this one:

Dennis Rodman, besieged by conspiracies everywhere else, was just sold down the river by his ghostwriter, Sports Illustrated’s Michael Silver, who coauthored Rodman’s latest eagerly anticipated book (what did we do in the days before we got a new one each spring?)

“I said some of those things but he tweaked them,” Rodman said.

“He made it more like he was on acid or mushrooms. The next one, I’ll do by myself and see if people buy it.”

Comment: The next one?

Silver said Rodman’s agent, Dwight Manley, signed off on everything, and that the three of them discussed various names before agreeing Rodman would say he wanted to be known as “Orgasm.”

“He seems to be cracking under the pressure,” Silver said. “I think Dennis is maybe feeling the stress of not having his game.

“The last thing he needs to be doing is lashing out at the one media person defending him.”

Moral of story: Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas.
