Med-Design Syringe Wins European Patent
Med-Design Corp. has been granted a patent by the European Patent Office for the company’s safety syringe, which utilizes needle retraction technology.
The patent will extend coverage for the syringe to 12 countries in the European Economic Community: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Patents also have been granted in the United States, Japan, Australia and Romania.
Med-Design develops safety devices designed to reduce the incidence of accidental needle sticks. Headquartered in Philadelphia, the company operates a research and development and manufacturing facility in Ventura.
